Is there a cost to meet with an advisor?
No. Meeting with a licensed advisor through Sidebar Benefit Advisors is completely free. Advisors are compensated by the insurance carriers, not by you. You will never be charged for a consultation, plan comparison, or enrollment.
What should I bring to a consultation?
Bring any current insurance cards, a list of your prescription medications with dosages, your preferred doctors and pharmacies, and any information about other health coverage you may have.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is necessary — you can walk in during scheduled hours at any participating location. However, you can book an appointment to guarantee a time that works for you.
What types of coverage can an advisor help with?
Our licensed advisors can help with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug Plans, ACA / Marketplace plans, and Special Needs Plans. They compare options across multiple carriers to find the right fit for your needs.
Are your advisors licensed and certified?
Yes. Every advisor on the Sidebar platform holds a valid state health insurance license, verified through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). Advisors are also certified annually with each carrier they represent.
Can an advisor help me switch plans?
Yes. If you are in a valid enrollment period, a licensed advisor can help you review your current coverage and switch to a plan that better meets your needs.
